Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Culture Thread, a Kansas City based clothing store founded in 2018 by one guy and ran by a small group of high school friends. Culture Thread started as a laughed about dream that through hard work and determination, has turned into a thriving reality. We aim to bring you the trendiest apparel made in the Kansas City.
Our goal is to express the KC culture through our Threads. Locals love to support anything KC whether it be basic prints or our most lavish designs. Through our products, social media, community outreach and using only artist living or from KC, we’ve created your GOTO, fast fashion, trendy, brand that you can find your favorite local KC artist working with.
As a local, black-owned business, we are truly proud of how far we’ve come. We aim to uplift and empower people of all color in the Kansas City area.
The creators of Culture Thread were all born and grew up in Wyandotte county and eventually all moving to Johnson county. Living in a this area felt as though the color of our skin impacted our daily image. We continuously strive to make our community more inclusive and to support the underserved demographics in the metro area. Recently, we’ve released several designs to support the black community during this time. Check out some of our Black Lives Matter merchandise on our website. We will be choosing a local organization to donate all proceeds to.
Currently, Culture Thread is an online only store specializing in fashion-forward hoodies, sweaters, accessories and more. While we only offer Kansas City merchandise at this time, you can customize a variety of our products with the city, logo or picture of your choice. We even offer customizable t-shirts, puzzles, mouse pads and pillows. One day, Culture Thread hopes to expand into brick and mortar locations across Kansas City to offer a wider selection of products.
Each of our products are designed in Las Vegas, by our up-and-coming graphic designer who graduated from the University of Kansas. Each design is unique, on trend and always Instagram worthy. Most tie dye pieces are hand dyed and bleached with high quality coloring and bleaching process that was made to last.
One of our favorite products on the website is the KC Designer Tiger Hoodie. This piece features a glistening tiger & snakes on both sleeves design with our signature “Kansas City” font available on a bleached hoodie and plain.
